Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Powerhouse 1951 Bowman Baseball #253 Mickey Mantle rookie high number. This horizontal rendition of the Yankee phenom is crease-free with four barely touched corners, creamy edges and shimmering surface colors/accents. The reverse which details Mick's walloping of his minor league competition displays only traces of reverse wax staining common to having been pulled from a penny wax pack. Despite factory errant centering, this king of all Bowman Baseball cards which pre-dates the 1952 Topps version by a full season exhibits matchless eye appeal!
