Undaunted by tremendous pressure and a hostile environment, Jackie Robinson performed beyond all expectations, changing the landscapes of Major League Baseball and American culture. The offered vintage photograph is signed by the history-making Dodger with an inscription referring to the hallowed institution into which he has been deservedly enshrined. Issued by Sports Illustrated likely during the 1960s, this 8x10 black-and-white photo depicts a smiling Robinson wearing his Brooklyn Dodgers cap. In blue ballpoint, Robinson (d.1972) has signed ("7-8" strength) and inscribed: "Best wishes Mitchell - Hope your trip to Cooperstown was fun." Destined for framing, the photo is affected by a series of minor creases. Full photo LOA from Kevin Keating.
