Inspired by the drawings of Franciscan sister Maria Innocentia Hummel, German entrepreneur Franz Goebel marketed porcelain figurines beginning in 1935. More than seven decades later, painstakingly crafted plates and annual decorative pieces are sought world wide by a sizable following. The offered (4) pieces were produced during the 1970s. Each of these 7-5/8"-diamter porcelain plates has a date stamping and unique design. Includes: 1971 "Heavenly Angel"; This first-edition plate was issued in commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of W. Goebel Porzellanfarik and remains a highly-sought piece;1972 "Hear Ye, Hear Ye"; 1973 "Globe Trotter"; and 1974 "Goose Girl."
