Multi-figure contracts, television and copyright stipends have long been a part of Major League Baseball. In 1963, however, a lawsuit regarding the game's youth leagues reared its ugly head when the folks at Hartland issued its "Little Leaguer" statue without permission from the Williamsport, Pennsylvania-based suits. Offered is one such statue housed in its original retail packaging. Sealed in its original header card/plastic bubble for nearly half a century, this 6"-tall plastic figurine remains in (MT) condition. The header card shows creases and the plastic has withstood a series of dents, but the actual statue has yet to be exposed. Following the legal battle, incidentally, Hartland renamed their product the "Batboy" statue.
