Description

The “Bronx Bombers” and “Wiz Kids” endorse this historic 1950 World Series Yankees/Phillies multi-signed ball with nineteen autographs. The ONL Frick sphere is penned in blue ink, with the Phillies presenting better than their American League counterparts. The creamy canvas has sustained moderate wear including expected soiling, minor surface abrasions along each panel and slightly faded trademark stampings. It is unknown if this ball is game-used; however, an unknown hand boldly inscribed “World Series 1950” on the east panel. Included are Sweet Spot: Hamner (d.1993, “3”); West Panel: Ennis (d.1996, “5-6”), Konstanty (d.1976, “5-6”), unidentified, Woodling (d.2001, “3”), Mize (d.1993, “3”), Ostrowski (d.2003, “3”); East Panel: W. Jones (d.1983, “5”); North Panel: B. Miller (“5”), Ashburn (d.1997, “5”), Seminick (d.2004, “5”), Page (d.1980, “2”), Porterfield (d.1980, “2”); South Panel: R. Meyer (d.1997, “7”), Waitkus (d.1972, “6-7”), B. Brown (“3-4”), Hopp (d.2003, “3”), Bauer (d.2007, “3”) and Raschi (d.1988, “3-4”). Auction LOA from James Spence Authentications.
